THE IMPACT

Transgrid plans to build 360km of power lines and massive towers across national parks, prime farming and agricultural use land in Southern NSW.

Transgrid, can compulsorily acquire land and homes that have been in farming families for generations.

The proposed towers and powerlines will;

  • cause bushfires,

  • seriously hinder fire fighting efforts,

  • cause electromagnetic fields with serious health impacts,

  • make vital farmland and surrounding agricultural land unusable,

  • industrialise the landscape and it's great natural beauty,

  • cause land and property prices to decrease in value,

  • destroy native habitat,

  • disrupt arial and drone activity,

  • disrupt GPS signals impacting precision farming,

  • threaten animal habitats and natural environments,

  • cause near constant noise,

  • collapse in storms and high winds.

If this project is allowed to proceed the livelihoods and well-being of thousands of people will be destroyed.

Transgrid is majority owned by international investors.  They have the power to compulsory acquire land for HumeLink.  This power was never intended to be used to further the financial interests of non Australians.
